Skyscraper Simulator is a complex program with a lot of options that can be set.
Most of these options will be found in the Elevator Editor, which will let you change settings for each elevator. You can also control the elevator and place it in special service modes using this tool.
Here's a quick summary of the most important options in the Elevator Editor:
Call/Go/Enqueue: These buttons bring the elevator to a floor (Select floor with slider below elevator number slider)
Open/Close: These buttons open and close the elevator doors.Open/Close Manual: These force the doors open at any time, including when the car is running.
Open/Close Shaft Doors: These open/close the shaft door at the floor selected.
Emerg. Stop: Stops the car.
Alarm: Rings the alarm bell.
Chime: Plays the elevator chime.
Stop Doors: Stops the doors from moving (only when they are being moved manually)
Set up/down Indicator: Lights the up or down directional indicator at the selected floor.
ACP Mode: Enables ACP Mode. The car will stop at a specified landing before moving to desired floor. Floor can be set in the “ACP Floor” box in the lower right hand corner of the editor window.
Up/Down Peak: Holds elevator at lowest/highest floor with doors open until a call is placed.
Independent Service: Enables Independent Service. The doors will be held at a floor until closed by the Door Close button. Inspection Service: Places the car out of service so it can be moved manually using the Go Up/Down buttons (press Go, then up or down to move the car while on Inspection Service)

Acceleration/Deceleration/AccelJerk/DecelJerk: These values should be the same when changed. They affect how quickly the elevator car speeds up and slows down.
LevSpeed: Leveling speed (value is in feet per second)LevOffset: Distance (in feet) from the floor at which point the car slows to leveling speed.
LevOpen: (a.k.a. “Classic (Otis) Leveling”, “Pre-Door”, etc.): Distance (in feet) at which point the doors open before the car completely stops.
Notify: Makes the elevator chime at either... 0 – When doors open 1 – When elevator hits leveling speed 2 – When elevator begins to slow down (decelerate)
DDelay: Delay (in seconds) from time door closes to time the elevator starts moving.
ADelay: Delay (in seconds) from time car stops moving to time the doors open. Door Timer: Time (in milliseconds [1000 ms = 1 second]) that the door stays open at a floor.
For advanced program configuration, use Notepad to open up the Skyscraper.ini file in your Skyscraper folder. It will let you change many default parameters. DO NOT MODIFY THAT FILE IF YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT YOU ARE DOING!
